Moving Water

Interactive, kinetic sculptures made of wood, steel and acrylic to demonstrate the ways we move water

As the wheel moves around the sculpture like water through streams you will notice it doesn't take much to move the water downward. This is because gravity is doing the work, making this process simple. To keep the wheel moving uphill however, we need to generate momentum- this takes energy- energy that participants generate by tilting and turning the piece. One might notice moving water uphill is a little more challenging than you first imagined.
